Lauren Hardee-Chase is a candidate running for Camillus Town Board representing the 6th ward. She as lived in Camillus for 7 years.
Lauren is a retired Information Technology professional, originally from Philadelphia, Pa. she moved to Syracuse in 1992. After 22+ years, she retired from Bristol-Myers Squib as an IT manager in 2015 and is currently an adjunct professor teaching technology courses at Syracuse University. Lauren is active in the community and believes in neighbors helping and supporting neighbors.
She has served on the boards of Girls Inc and the YWCA where she chaired the technology committee; the Brady Faith Center as board member and chair and continues to volunteer. Lauren was a co-founder of the Parkway Drive Neighborhood Association (organization is no longer active). As a 501 (c3) the organization was started in the aftermath of the “Storm of 98” with neighbors helping neighbors. The organization quickly grew to organize neighborhood cleanup projects, beautification projects, partnered with other neighborhood groups in the Syracuse community and sponsored a Habitat for Humanity home for a single mother and her children.
Lauren is a firm believer in civic duty and enjoys work as an election inspector because it’s a service to the community and a way of meeting people in the community. Lauren lives in Camillus with her husband and is a member of the Camillus Democratic Committee. She also served several years in the United States Army Reserves in Pennsylvania.
Education: BA in Business, MS Business Management and Organizational Leadership.
